TheDragon Ballfranchise has a lot of capable and powerful fighters, some of the strongest in all of anime. However, if you asked any fan of the series, the scar-faced Yamcha wouldn't be among them. While he started out as a main protagonist in the originalDragon Ball,Yamcha's relevance and usefulness faded as characters became stronger and stronger.

These days, Yamcha's more of a punching bag, for both the bad guys of the series who can very easily take him out and the fans alike. And of course, picking on poor ol' Yamcha became so much of a popular pastime that there are tons of memes for it.

10 Magikarp Used Hyperbeam?!

Pokémon'sMagikarp is famously known for only having the move "Splash" which does nothing, though the seemingly useless fish Pokémon can learn other moves eventually. "Hyper Beam" (or any "Beam"-type attack) is not among them, but it is here and of course Yamcha is the target.

Representing what it feels like to be roasted by "the weakest dude in the squad," Yamcha's losing a bit more than his pride in this meme. Though if the "squad" is one that consists of Yamcha and Magikarp, then the rest of the members probably aren't all that impressive either.

9 "My Phone Dies As Fast As Yamcha!"

Some phone batteries can really last, others not so much and their battery life can be even shorter when mobile games get thrown into the mix. That 100% can go down to 0% in almost no time at all, kind of like how fast Yamcha died in the Saiyan Saga.

In this meme, Yamcha plays the part of an iPhone battery as it goes up against a Saibaman that's supposed to be a mobile game. Anyone who's seen Dragon Ball Zknows how well this ends up going, and it's a pretty accurate representation of how fast some phone batteries can die.

8 Is He Your Son, Yamcha?

In the beginning, it seemed like Yamcha and Bulma were going to be a couple to the very end, but along came Vegeta and Yamcha was out of the picture pretty fast. Regardless of why they broke up, it was quite a shock to the Z-Fighters and to some of the fans too. It also became a new source of ridicule for Yamcha.

Considering how fast Bulma and Vegeta got together and had a kid, versus how long Yamcha's relationship with Bulma was before their inevitable break up, it's almost as though the world (and Vegeta) are laughing at the poor guy.

7 Yamcha's...Progression?

Yamcha's strength and significance have really fluctuated across the entireDragon Ballcanon. Sometimes he's actually capable in a fight, other times (well, most of the time) he's the weakest link in the roster of Z-Fighters. Hilariously, thisSpongebobmeme accurately represents his power level across the franchise.

InSuperYamcha's basically nothing, inZhe's just the guy who gets beaten or killed, he's got somewhat of a shot to win some fights in the originalDragon Ball, but in the fillers, Yamcha's somehow capable of taking on the Ginyu Force. However, none of these are quite as funny as the "Reincarnated" version of Yamcha, who's able to use his knowledge ofDragon Ballcanon to become strong to the point where he can take on Vegeta. It figures the strongest Yamcha is the version that isn't the real one.

6 Yamcha Vs. Jiren

Yamcha was pretty much completely forgotten about during the Tournament of Power, to the point where Goku didn't even consider asking him to join his team. Considering the caliber of fighters in that tournament, it's not like he'd last very long even if he was on the team.

However, this meme argues that he could be the secret weapon against Jiren. All he'd have to do is let Jiren power-up and accidentally kill Yamcha, which would get him disqualified. It's probably the only way Yamcha would've been useful against Jiren, to be honest.

5 A Man Who Has Endured Much Pain

Fan's reaction toThe Last of Us Part IIwas pretty harsh, to say the least, to the point where multiple posts and memes were made to mock the game. While it should be noted that Ellie has suffered a lot inThe Last of Us' story, it's not quite the level of pain that Yamcha's gone through.

To be fair, this comparison is sort of "apples to oranges," however, Yamcha has taken tons of brutal beatings, suffered humiliation, and died multiple times (sometimes as a result of fights he wasn't even in). And that's not even counting the emotional pain of being forgotten by his friends, dumped by Bulma, and replaced by the Saiyan who almost destroyed Earth.

4 Would You Press the Button?

Dragon Ball: That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamchawas a spin-off manga where an ordinary boy is reincarnated into the body of Yamcha during the early days of Dragon Ball and takes the chance to rewrite Yamcha's story using his knowledge of the franchise's universe. It's a fun twist on the Dragon Ballseries, but not one most fans could see themselves doing.

This meme reflects that tough choice, the temptation of getting to live in the wild world ofDragon Ball,but only by being reincarnated in the body of the weakest Z-Fighter in the series. Some fans would love the chance to live in the world of their favorite anime, but maybe not like this.

3 Every Awesome Character Has A Scar?

Some say that scars "build character" and that does seem to be the case for some characters in fiction. Scars can sometimes add a level of mystery and awesome to a character, and create a cool story of how they got those scars. In the case ofOne Piece,this seems to hold up, however, for Yamcha it does not.

Yamcha got his scars during the three-year time skip in the originalDragon Balland they were given pretty much no attention. For Yamcha, his scars are just an extra detail added onto him and probably his only recognizable feature, but they don't make him a cooler character.

2 How Everyone Sees Yamcha

Yamcha gets defeated a lot, though his most iconic loss is when a Saibaman self-destructed and made him the first casualty in the fight against the Saiyans. Surprisingly after all this time, Yamcha still has some level of confidence in himself, which is admittedly kind of admirable, but it hasn't shaken his bad reputation as the weakest Z-Warrior.

This meme sees how most view Yamcha, lying dead in a crater, except for one that sees Yamcha as a Super Saiyan (something that would never actually happen). One can't help but feel bad for him since he's seen as mostly a punchline to a joke.

1 Yamcha Vs. Magikarp

Since Yamcha is a martial artist and has had experience fighting strong opponents, one would think he'd be prepared to take on the infamously weak Magikarp. This meme however foresees a one-on-one fight between the two going a little differently.

After one use of "Splash" (which is supposed to do nothing), Yamcha faints. Yamcha is apparently so weak in this one that the most useless in all of Pokémoncan take him out. Exaggerated, maybe, but the image of Magikarp defeating Yamcha in one shot without even needing to evolve into Gyarados is undoubtedly hilarious.
